Privacy Policy

Bingecraft (bingecraft.app) is a TV companion app operated by Flaresoft Solutions ("we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains what data we collect when you use the app, how we use it, and the controls you have over it.

Account information

When you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects and stores your email address, a password (hashed), and any profile details you choose to add (display name, avatar). Bingecraft stores a reference to your Clerk user ID along with your username.

Show tracking and activity

We store the shows and episodes you track — status, progress, optional ratings, optional drop reasons, and optional episode notes. We store which streaming services you subscribe to and which notification types you've opted into.

Device information

If you enable push notifications, we store the device's push token and platform (iOS / Android / web) so we can send you notifications you've asked for. We keep a small log of which push notifications were sent to avoid duplicate delivery.

Operational metadata

Our infrastructure providers (Vercel, Neon) log standard request information (IP address, user-agent, timestamps) for security and debugging. We do not sell this data.

• To run the core product — search, tracking, calendar, import.
• To send push notifications you've opted into (new episodes, countdown reminders, etc.). You can turn each type off any time.
• To improve recommendations once our AI features launch — your library, ratings, and taste signals inform suggestions.
• To debug issues and prevent abuse. Operational logs are kept for a limited retention period.

We share data with service providers strictly to operate the app:

• Clerk — authentication and account management.
• Neon — Postgres database host.
• Vercel — web hosting and edge infrastructure.
• Expo — mobile push notification delivery.
• TMDB — we fetch show metadata from TMDB; we do not send your personal data to TMDB.
• Anthropic (once AI features ship) — prompts for recommendations and Spoiler Shield; these are not used to train Anthropic models per their zero-retention API terms.

We do not sell personal data. We may disclose data if compelled by valid legal process.

Regardless of where you live, you can use the following tools inside the app at any time:

• Export your data. Settings → Account → Export returns a JSON file with everything tied to your account.
• Delete your account. Settings → Account → Delete permanently removes your library, watched history, push tokens, and account row.
• Turn notifications off. Settings → Notifications per-type toggles; OS-level permission can also be revoked.

EU/UK users have rights under GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction, objection, automated-decision opt-out). California residents have rights under CCPA/CPRA (know, delete, correct, limit sensitive-data use, opt-out of sale/sharing). We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If analytics are enabled in a future release, we'll ask for consent up front and list them here.

We keep your data as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your data is removed from our live systems. Backups are retained for up to 30 days before they are rotated out.

Bingecraft is intended for users 13 and older (16 in some EU member states). We do not knowingly collect data from younger users.

Our primary data store is located in a US region. If you use the app from outside the US, your data is transferred to and processed in the US under Standard Contractual Clauses.

We'll update the effective date at the top of this page any time we make material changes. If a change materially affects your rights, we'll surface it in-app before it takes effect.
